James Thomas Smith

James Thomas Smith, 81, of Fremont, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Funeral, Sunday, 2:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service.  Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.  The visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday, 5:00-6:30 PM.

James Thomas was an adored father, and  grandfather and was a beloved husband to his wife Carolyn for almost 57 years.  He worked many years for Wrangler in Wilson while also maintaining the family farm.  He was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing as well as his horses and dogs, but his real joy was the time he spent with his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Judy Carolyn Lamm Smith; son, Dr. J. Scott Smith of Raleigh; grandchildren,  Andrew, Catherine, Patrick and William Smith; sister, Sandra Alexander (Benny) of Wilson.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Fremont United Methodist Church, PO Box 147, Fremont, NC 27830.
