James Adkins

James Gay Adkins, 82, of Wilson, died Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, 2:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service with a time of visiting and sharing to follow. Pastor Steve Strickland of Grace Baptist Church will officiate. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Gay Adkins and Cora Smith Adkins and niece, Gwendolyn Ellis Adkins.

Surviving is his sister, Lynda Adkins Land of Wilson; brother, Howard Smith Adkins of Virginia Beach, VA; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews. He will be dearly missed by us all.

The family would like to thank the providers at ECU Health Medical Center, Greenville, for the wonderful care James received. We are especially grateful to the neuro ICU providers and hospice care team.
