BATH - Irene Page of Bath and previously of Wilson went to join her savior on January 10, 2015, at her much-loved home on the Pamlico River.
Irene was a loving and dedicated wife, sister, mother, and grandmother whose loss will be deeply felt by her family, many friends, and neighbors.
She was born on July 9, 1923, in Wilson to Zadoc and Mamie Lewis. Her beloved husband of 66 years, Warren "Dub" Page of Wilson, preceded her in death last January.
She is survived by son Martin Page (Debbie) and her daughter Marsha Page Daniels (Gary).
Mrs. Page is also survived by five grandchildren, Riann Potts (Travis), Kelsey Daniel, Tucker Daniel, Dylan Page, and Dane Page, as well as two great-grandchildren, Emma Jones and Aaryn Potts.
She also had a special "daughter" Jackie Farmer, "grandchild" Daisy Woolard Adams and "great-grandchild" Kendall Page Adams, who also meant the world to her.
She was also a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews that she loved like her own kids: Becky Byrd (Erick), Debbie Bradley (Lawrence), Pat Perry (Ricky), Jimmy Lewis (Daphne), and Marshall Lewis (Nancy).
She was preceded in death by her brothers Zadoc (Z.D.) Lewis (Pearl) and Rance Lewis (Emma), as well as her sister Genevieve Finch (Bennie).
A special thanks and love go to Irene's extended "family" of caregivers, who have taken such excellent care of her over the past two years: Phyllis Hewitt, Loria Artis, Nohemi Hewitt, Merari Chavez, and Jenny Waters.
Mrs. Page was an office manager at JC Penny for 42 years in Wilson, but she traveled widely to set up new stores across the southeastern United States. After working for over four decades, Irene and Dub retired in 1983 to their beloved Bath to enjoy life by the Pamlico River. She loved cooking, fishing, and gardening and was an avid sports fan.
Mrs. Page was an active member of the Bath United Methodist Church. She was also an active volunteer for many years with the Martha Project in Belhaven.
A memorial service honoring Mrs. Page will be held at her home church, Bath United Methodist, at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 12th. The family will greet friends after the service in the Fellowship Hall.
Mrs. Page's graveside service will be on Tuesday, January 13th, at 2:30 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Wilson Memorial Service at 2811 Fieldstream Drive N. in Wilson. The family will greet friends after the service.
