Hoyt Rogers

Hoyt Rogers, 75, of Winchester, VA, died December 24, 2022. 

Funeral, Noon, Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Wilson Memorial Service.  The visitation will be 30 minutes before the funeral.

Hoyt was born on February 3, 1947, in Marion County, SC to Horace P. and Leitha Mae Brown Rogers.

He graduated from Ralph L. Fike High School in 1965. During his time there, his performance at Stunt Night captivated the audience with his rendition of Hank Williams' classic song "You Win Again." The crowd was awe-struck by his talent, resulting in an encore that left everyone wanting more.

In recent years, Hoyt resided in an assisted living facility in Virginia where he thrived and found purpose amidst new friendships and connections. His genuine compassion touched the lives of countless individuals there, as he tirelessly sought ways to bring comfort and joy to those around him. It was not uncommon for him to provide essential support when he recognized someone struggling—even offering the shirt off his back without hesitation.

He is survived by his sons, Jason R. Hasinsky (Crystal) and their children, Kiel, Gavin, Indi and Sparrow, and Jeromy R. Giacosa (Patricia) and their children, Nicholas and Amelia, all of southern California; sisters, Ann R. Etheridge and Alice R. Pearson (Joe) of Wilson; nephews, Horace Etheridge, Maurice Etheridge, Joseph Bryan Lamm and Carl Pearson (Jessica); nieces, Gena Ann Etheridge, Becky Lamm Onstad (Pat); great-niece, Tiffany (Matt).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, H.P. Rogers, Jr., who was killed in action in Vietnam, and his brother-in-law, Julian Ray Etheridge.
