Lucye Hildegarde Stallings-Parson, known as Garde by all that knew and loved her, passed away at Vidant Hospital in Greenville on July 19, 2020.
Garde is survived by her four children, Taylor, Cameron, Aidan and John, from her prior marriage to Bruce Parson.
Garde was born on August 15, 1949 in Wilson and would go on to receive a masters degree in psychology at East Carolina University. She worked at Cherry Hospital as a social worker from 1974 to 1985 and as a guidance counselor and psych teacher at Wayne Country Day from 1989-1993. She was a dedicated office manager for Studio 86 in Kinston from 1999 through 2011 and served as the Chairperson for Kinston’s Distinguished Young Woman program. She moved to Wilson in 2011 and became a beloved substitute teacher for Hunt High School.
Her children and friends are planning a celebration of life on Saturday, August 15, 2020 on the back lawn of the Wilson Memorial Service funeral home. It begins at 6:15 pm, where covid restrictions are required to be followed so please bring a mask and try to maintain social distancing.
