WILSON - Helen Harris Finch Pool died April 3, 2014.
Funeral, Sunday, 2 PM, First United Methodist Church, followed by a time of visiting and sharing.
During her marriage to the late John W. Finch, Jr, she traveled as an Army wife and worked in the Seventh Army Headquarters in Vaihingen, Germany, and in the Army Attache Office, U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece. Returning to Wilson, she worked in the office of Fike High School until retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvil and Eva Stubbs Harris of Nash County; sisters, Roberta Batts, Mary Alice Killette, Lucy Anne Harris and Amy Denny.
Survivors include her husband, Marion A. Pool; daughter, Carolyn Finch of Suwanee, GA; son, John W. Finch III (Brenda) of Elm City; four grandchildren; step-daughters, Dr. Karen P. Helgeson (Dr. James) of Laurinburg and Alison Pool-Crane (Rev. Lee) of Indian Rocks Beach, FL; step-sons, Dr. Michael L. Pool (Dale) of Greensboro, and James M. Pool (Jayne) of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Lauren, Alex and Jackson Fountain and Chance Hayes; step-grandsons, Greg and Jeff Pool; step-granddaughters, Kirby Pool and Frances Pool-Crane; step-great-great-grandson, William "Liam" Pool; step-great-granddaughter, Avery; brothers-in-law, Robert Lee Denny, Alton Finch, Harold Finch.
