Helen Batchelor

May 27, 1948 — December 6, 2015

WILSON - Helen Murray Batchelor, 67, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 6, 2015.

Funeral, Wednesday, 11 AM, Bailey Baptist Church. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park. The visitation will be Tuesday, 6 - 8 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service.

Helen loved people for she believed whole heartedly this was her work for The Lord. It was a life well lived for The Lord, her church, friends and family. Wherever she was there was a party. Never meeting a stranger, she had an uncanny knack of conversation. Always the servant to others, she would try her very best to give a helping hand. Her contagious laugh and sharp wit would calm even her toughest critic. She loved children. Although having none of her own, there are several who loved her as a mother and she loved them with a full and sincere heart. As you read this obituary now, you may have been a recipient of her card ministry. She had a gift from heaven to remember everyones birthday and anniversary. She was dearly loved by her circle of friends and affectionately called them her "posse". There are not words to describe her passion and love for her James.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Murray and mother, Helen Privette Murray.

She is survived by her husband, James W. Batchelor; cousins, Dick Privette (Deborah) and their child, Kaylan of Rocky Mount, Richard Privette (Jane) of Wilson; Sarah Wester (Louis) and Susan Hough (Rodney) of Bailey; Laura Pearson (Harold) of Greensboro; Felice Pete (Karl) and their child, Reagan of Williamsburg, VA; brothers and sisters in law; Thomas Batchelor, Donald Batchelor (Joyce), Brenda Lynch, Bernice Bunn (James), Ronnie Batchelor (Marsha), Phillip Batchelor (Patsy), Deborah Mangum (Nelson) and Michael Batchelor (Karla); mother-in-law, Hazel Batchelor and a host of other relatives and very close friends.
