Grace Barnes

Grace Holloman Barnes, 88, of Lucama, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Funeral, Tuesday, 7:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service followed by visitation. Interment will be for and at the convenience of the family.

Grace was born on July 28, 1936 in Saratoga, NC. She was the daughter of Tommy and Mary “Pete” Holloman Baker and wife of Janice Ray Barnes.

She graduated from Saratoga High School in 1953 and worked for many years on the family farm in Lucama and as owner and operator of Regency Florist in Wilson.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy Barnes (Vicky), Michael Barnes (Glenda), and Jeffrey Barnes; grandchildren, Daniel (Brooke), Steven (Ashlee), Amanda (Mason), and Joseph (Jeanine); great-grandchildren, Aiden, Colton, and Katherine; sisters, Linda “Faye” Grady (Kenneth) and Violet Bridgers (Dallas); brother, Silas Ray Baker.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy Holloman, Jr., Douglas Holloman, James ”Buster/Buck” Holloman, and Robert “Wayne” Baker (Vickie) and sister-in-law, Debbie Baker.

She was aunt to several nieces and nephews and best friend to Betty Lou Davis.

The family would like to send special thanks to Parkwood Village, The Landing, Wilson Medical Center, Gentiva Hospice and Wilson Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
