Gertrude Burwell Poole, 83, died Friday, July 29, 2005, after a Lengthy illness. A native of Locust Dale, Virginia, she lived in Charlotte for many years before moving to Wilson in 1993 following her husband's death. She is survived by daughters, Dorothy P. Eagles (Frank) of Wilson, Betty P. Long (Michael) of Austin, TX, and son, Toy S. Poole (Marion) of Vicksburg, MS: seven grandchildren including Ben and Bradley Eagles of Wilson and two great-grandchildren. The graveside funeral will be held in Locust Dale on Saturday.
