William Franklin Smith, 79, of Raleigh, died Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
A service for the family was held at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Elm City.
Franklin was born in Goldsboro to the late John Calvin and Dorothy Crow Smith. He was grandson of the late Wayne Franklin and Catherine Smith and William Roland and Bessie Crow also of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Goldsboro High School and attended Mars Hill College. He came to Raleigh and attended Hardbarger Business College. He also served in the National Guard.
For more than 40 years, he worked as a salesman in the Raleigh area. He got up early in the morning, took great care of his family, shunned debt and rarely took a day off work.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Jackie Warbritton Smith; son, Frank and wife, Rachel, of Raleigh and son, Danny of Raleigh; grandchildren David, Evan and Lydia Smith.
