Emily Holloman

Emily Pope Holloman, 85, of Wilson, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

Funeral, Saturday, 10:00 AM, Wilson Memorial Service followed by visitation.  An interment service for the family will be in Holly Springs OFWB Church Cemetery, Kenly.

Mrs. Holloman is survived by her daughter, Harriet Ellis Stinson and husband, Scot, of Wilson; sister Marvene Creech (David) of Selma; brothers, H.T. Pope (Frances) and Bobby Pope (Lena Gray) of Kenly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Zelma Godwin Pope; brother, Donald Pope; sister Christine Woodard; son-in-law, Marty Ellis.

Mrs. Holloman graduated from Glendale High School and Atlantic Christian College. She was a business administrative assistant educator at Kenly High School and Evergreen High School. She retired from teaching after 29 years at Wilson Technical Community College. She believed in excellence and strove to demonstrate that in herself and her students.

Mrs. Holloman devoted herself to caring for others between being a devoted mother and caregiver to family and friends. She enjoyed working in her yard and gladly shared plants and flowers with others. Her love for Jesus was shown in her heart to ensure that she accompanied disabled friends and family members to their church services. And she loved a good Gospel Singing! Surely, she is tapping her foot and singing along with the praises to the one true God as she fellowships with Him and her loved ones in Heaven. She will be greatly missed.
