WILSON - Ellen Wade Brooks Deans, 98, died Saturday, July 13, 2013.
Funeral, 2 PM, Wednesday, Maplewood Cemetery. Reverend Daniel P. Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service.
Ellen was born on April 28, 1915 to Wade Ruffin Brooks, Sr. and Bronna Henderson Bray Brooks. She married Lt. Col Edwin Gray Deans, Jr., on May 5, 1943. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Deans Harrison; sisters, Sarah Brooks, Alice B. Thomas, Bronna B. England and Francis Brooks; brothers, Wade R. Brooks, Jr., Robert L. Brooks, Alton G. "Tuney" Brooks and William J. "Bill" Brooks.
She is survived by her son, Edwin Gray Deans, III and wife, Elaine, of Washington; grandchildren, Christopher P. Deans of Rocky Mount and
Kathryn G. Deans of Rocky Mount and son-in-law, David J. Harrison of Charlotte.
