WILSON - Dr. Harold A. Ladwig, 93, died Thursday, March 31, 2016.
Funeral, Sunday, 3 PM, First United Methodist Church, followed by a time of visiting and sharing.
Dr. Ladwig was born on May 11, 1922. The Ladwigs came to Wilson in 1983. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Foster Ladwig in September, 2015.
He was a graduate of University of Iowa Medical School in 1947, University of Minnesota Neurology School in 1953. He served in the United States Marines and the Navy Reserves for forty years. He practiced neurology in Omaha for 30 years before coming to Wilson. He relocated his neurology practice to Wilson and retired in 1999.
In Wilson, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served on the Administrative Board and Board of Trustees. He was Chairman for Wilson Memorial Hospital Foundation and President of Wilson County Medical Society.
While in Wilson he served as President of Wilson Symphony, Kiwanis Club (Distinguished), Salvation Army Boy's and Girl's Club and Salvation Army.
Dr. Ladwig is survived by his daughter, Rosemary Ladwig of the home; son, Dr. Stephen Ladwig and wife, Linda, of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Jason Ladwig and wife, Katie, Juliana Soin and husband, Dr. Sandy Soin, and Elizabeth Ladwig; great-grandchildren, Noelle and Cole Ladwig and Kira Soin.
