Dr. Edward Wright

WILSON - Dr. Edward K. Wright, Jr, DDS, 87 , died Tuesday, December 18, 2007. Dr. Wright practiced dentistry in Robersonville and Williamston until retirement in 1988 when he returned to his native Wilson. He was the elder son of the late E.K. and Annie Smith Wright. A graduate of Charles L. Coon High School, Dr Wright enrolled in North Carolina State University and was drafted into the Army during World War II. He served in the Philippines as a medical corpsman. After the war, he continued his education graduating from the Medical College of Virginia in 1950 with a degree in Dental Surgery. Funeral, Thursday, 2 PM, First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service. He was preceded in death by his brother, William S. Wright. Surviving is a sister-in-law, Jesse Gordon Wright: a niece, Kendall Sharpe (Steve) and a nephew, Dr. Gordon Wright (Nancy), all of Lexington.
