Doug Smith

WILSON - Douglas Austin Smith, Sr., 63, died Sunday, December 27, 2009. Funeral, Wednesday, 4 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Doug was a native of Stokes County and a son of the late Austin Nichodemas and Margaret McGee Smith. Following graduation from Walnut Cove High School in 1964, he served in the military and went on to work for Export Tobacco Co in Wilson until retirement. There was a sincere love for his family and then the East Carolina Corvette Club and fine art. Surviving is his wife, Linda Winebarger Smith; daughter, Kimberly Stallings (Jonathan) of Garner; sons, Doug Smith, Jr. (Jaime) and Scott Smith of Wilson; grandchildren, Austin and Taylor Stallings, Hunter and Dylan Smith and Brooklynn Smith; brothers, Marshall Smith (Anna) of Coffax and Sidney Levon Smith (Linda) of Advance; mother-in-law, Juanita Brooks Winebarger (husband, Randall William Winebarger died) of King; sister-in-law, Barbara W. Harvey (Boyd) of Germanton and their son, Rev. Jason W. Harvey of Statesville; most special and beloved friends, Jim and Louise McKinnon, J. C. Powers and Cheryl Bradley. A special thanks is extended to Drs. Dudley Anderson and Duane Fitch and their wonderful staffs for the loving attention shown to patient and family.
