ELM CITY - Dorothy "Dot" Cunningham Matthews, 82, of the Penders Crossroads community, died Monday, January 31, 2011. She had retired from the former Reuben Donnelly plant. Funeral, Tuesday, 7 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wilson, followed by a time of visiting. Interment, Wednesday, 1:00 PM, Evergreen Memorial Park. Surviving is her husband, Durwood Matthews; daughter, Faye Gardner (Joe) of Stantonsburg; son, Mickey Matthews (Claudia) of Wilmington; granddaughter, Michelle M. Pritchett; grandsons, Bill and Gary Gardner, Mike Matthews; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Selma Johnson and Lois Edwards of Wilson, Thelma Lucas of Lucama; brother, J. B. Cunningham of Greensboro.
