Surrounded by her family at home, Dorothy Boykin Beaman, 87, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on Wednesday morning.
The service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 25 at 10:00 AM in the shady grove of trees at Wilson Memorial Service. Please bring your own lawn chair and dress casual/weather appropriate. Masks are encouraged. Mrs. Beaman will lie in state Friday, July 24 from 1-5 PM at Wilson Memorial Service.
Dorothy was the widow of Jarvis P. Beaman. Her heavenly family includes her parents, Harvey and Emma Boykin, seven sisters, three brothers, and her granddaughter Rebekah Anders.
Her earthly family includes her daughters, Debra Bowen (Al) of Pinnacle, Lynn Anders (Mike) and Kelly Stevens (Mike) of Wilson. Dorothy’s grandchildren include Michelle Marion (Tommy), Allison McKenzie (Sean), Preston Anders (Blaire), Robert Anders (Charidy), Hunter Cone (Rebecca), Bethany Cone (fiancé Blake Boykin), Laura Lynch (Michael). Her great-grandchildren include Makayla, Madison, and Jax Anders, Mallory and Carson Marion, Bowen and Emma McKenzie, Aria Cone, Brooks Boykin and Raylee Lynch. Dorothy’s sister is Hilda Watkins, sister-in-law, Dianne Tyndall, brothers-in-law, Phil Beaman and Glenn Beaman, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her special caregivers include Janice Holland, Bernice Hodge, Earlene Williams, Tammy Denton, Terricka Blue, Mary Burch, Betty Haney, Sherry Johnson, Fe Edwards, Sylvia Williams and Joyce Morgan.
Dorothy loved the Lord and was a faithful and godly woman, formerly a member of Wendell Baptist Church and a current member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Wilson.
