Doris Corbett

WILSON - Doris Edwards Corbett, passed on to her Lord on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Wilson Pines (formerly Britthaven).
A celebration of her life will be on Tuesday, 11 AM, Wilson Memorial Service. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery.
She was born in Old Sparta, Edgecombe County, NC, on June 11, 1923, the daughter of Wiley Thomas and Alice Cummings Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin M. Corbett, and daughter, Beth Corbett.
Doris and Marvin founded and operated Corbett Flooring Company for several decades. She was devoted and active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Some of her hobbies included gardening, drawing and being with family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Tom Corbett and wife, Patty, of Wilson; daughter, Marvene Carroll and husband, Sonny, of Raleigh; grandson, Will Corbett and wife, Natalie; great-grandchildren, Abby and Ben Corbett all of Wilson and special nieces and nephews.
The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Monday, 7-8:30 PM and other times at 2008 Ellington Dr., Wilson.
Memorials are suggested to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 612 Vance St NE, Wilson NC 27893, or to a charity of one's choice.
