Elm City - Dennis O'Dell Lamm, 69, died Thursday, May 9, 2013.
Funeral, Saturday, 2 PM, Cedar Grove Cemetery, Elm City
He had retired from Firestone and remained active in community service in the Toisnot Fire Department and Elm City Rescue where he was currently serving as Captain. A true volunteer, he supported other services in the area including the Red Cross. He served in the U. S. Army.
Surviving is his wife, Peggy Watson Lamm; daughters, Sheron Averett and Michelle Johnson (Jacob) of Elm City; sons, Steve and Michael Lamm of Elm City; seven grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Speight (James) of Black Creek and Donna Buckner (Dennis) of SC; brothers, Earl Lamm (Dorothy) of Elm City, Tim Pipkin (Lisa) of VA, Johnny Pipkin (Faye) of VA, Charles Jones (Barbara) of Durham and Willard Lamm (Elizabeth) of Asheville.
The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wilson, Friday, 6:30 - 8:00 PM.
