David Creech

Norman David Creech, 70, of Wilson passed away peacefully at Wilson Medical Center, Thursday, October 18, 2012.

A celebration of life will be held at the home of David and Leigh Wilhelm, 1302 Lakeside Dr, Wilson, Saturday, October 20, 3 to 5 PM.

David was born in Selma, April 12, 1942, son of the late William Henry and Pearl Raiford Creech.

David graduated from Selma High School in 1960. He attended East Carolina University and graduated from Hardbarger Business School with a CPA degree. He began his career as the first executive director of the Selma Housing Authority. David moved to Wilson in 1978 to become the executive director of the Wilson Housing Authority. He was devoted to providing adequate housing for people in need, especially the elderly and children. He retired for the Wilson Housing Authority in 1998. He loved spending time with his family and picking bluegrass music. He was a longtime member of the Wilson Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Bobbie Scott Creech of Wilson; their daughter, Leigh Wilhelm and her husband, David, of Wilson; his son, David Ward Creech of Wilson and grandchildren, David William Creech and Meg Wilhelm.

David was preceded in death by his daughter, Leigh Ann Creech; brother, William Henry Creech, IV and sister, Dorothy Jean Creech Worley.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the charity of one's choice.

A special thanks to Dr. Tonya Little and staff, the Hospice team to include; Linda O'Boyle, Cristy Goff, Kim Barnes, Jean White and a special thank you to Joyce Morgan, who always made him laugh.
