Clark Moore

William Clark Moore, 74, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Wilson on February 18, 2025.

Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Clark was the son of Helen and James Moore. He graduated from Manasquan High School and Rutgers University. In his youth, he was an accomplished athlete, playing football, wrestling, and spending summers lifeguarding at the Jersey Shore.

After college, Clark began his career with Miller Brewing Company before moving to Wilson to serve as Vice President of Sales at Coastal Beverage Company, where he worked until his retirement. It was in Wilson that he met Mary Etta Eatman and they married on December 22, 1990.

A devoted member of First United Methodist Church, Clark’s faith was the foundation of his kind and generous spirit. He was known for his warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and his beloved dog, Cutter. A dedicated sports fan, Clark loved the Mets, the Tar Heels, and even Duke. He found joy in his daily morning walks, greeting neighbors along the way, and was an avid reader with a passion for history. He and Mary Etta shared a love for travel, embracing new experiences that brought them great happiness.

Clark was predeceased by his parents, Helen and James, as well as his sister Virginia “Babe” and brother Joe.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 34 years, Mary Etta Moore; his daughter, Heather, and her husband, Steve, of Chapel Hill; and his cherished grandchildren, Graham and Kate. He also leaves behind his sisters Helen ”Muffet”, Peggy, Martha, and Mary Anne, and his brothers Jim, Scott, and Casey.

Clark’s kindness, wisdom, and wit will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who were fortunate to know him.

A service will be held for and at the convenience of the family.
