SARATOGA - Christine Gardner Gay, 91, died Saturday, August 2, 2014.
Funeral, Wednesday, 11 AM, Wilson Memorial Service, Wilson. The visitation will be Wednesday one hour before the funeral. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park beside her husband, Harvey R. Gay, who died in 1981. Her twin sister, Ernestine G. Taylor, died in 2007 and her daughter-in-law, Diane Rogers Gay, died earlier this year.
Mrs. Gay was a life long member of the Saratoga Christian Church and had worked several years for the Post Office in Wilson retiring as the Postmaster in Saratoga.
Surviving is her daughter, Cathy Gay of Atlantic Beach, FL; son, Harvey R. Gay, Jr. of Cary; grandchildren, Aaron Lee Gay of Elizabeth City; Heather Meier (Eric) of Holly Springs and Scott Richardson of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Dalton Lee Gay, Travis Lee Meier, Justin Lee Meier and
Rachel Avery Meier.
