Chalmer Grantham

Chalmer Spence Grantham, Jr., 71, of Stantonsburg, died Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

Funeral, Sunday, 4:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service followed by visitation. The burial will be in the Stantonsburg Cemetery for and at the convenience of the family.

Chalmer retired from the NCDOT. Upon retirement he worked part time with Lee Ford of Wilson. He also volunteered many years of service to the Bull Head Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time with his family , going out to dinner at various restaurants and laying back in his recliner for a good Western. Throughout his life he loved his sports cars, NASCAR races, motorcycle rides, visiting the NC mountains, ECU football games and playing the drums. He also loved just being outside working in the yard with his grandson or loving on his cat Sassy. He was a beloved Brother, Father and Grandfather. He was a true family man and he loved them fiercely. 

He is survived by his daughter Leigh Grantham (David Evangelista) of Kinston; grandson, Tristan Grantham of Kinston; sister, Clara Daughtridge (Fletcher) of Stantonsburg; significant other , Jean Barnes of Stantonsburg.

Chalmer was preceded in death by his parents, Chalmer S. “Buck” Grantham and Julia Grey Minchew Grantham.
