Carlie Thorne, 92, of Wilson, died Thursday, January 23, 2020.
Funeral, Monday, 2:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service. Burial, Rock Hill Cemetery on Lamm Road. The visitation will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Sunday, 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zura and Tommy Thorne; sister, Dorothy Mihelarakis; brothers, Archie, Ted, Millard, Willard and Leonard Thorne.
Mr. Thorne was a retired farmer and an Army veteran. He was a great son who looked after his father, and a great father who loved all his children equally. He loved the church and the Lord. We will dearly miss him!
He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Tedder (Thomas) of Sims and Linda Driver (Randall) of Kenly; sons, Charles Thorne (Judy), Donald Thorne (Linda) and Tony Thorne all of Wilson and Tommy Thorne (Kathy) of Lucama; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and special friend, Jean Hamm of Kenly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested Lamms Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, PO Box 220, Lucama, NC 27851.
