Buddy Corbett

MOREHEAD CITY - Jesse Walter "Buddy" Corbett, Jr., 76, died Saturday, March 29, 2014.

Funeral, Monday, 11 AM, Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, followed by visitation.

Buddy graduated from Charles L. Coon in Wilson and GMI in Flint, MI. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wilson, and attended St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Morehead City. Buddy was the former owner and president of the Corbett Buick, Olds and GMC in Wilson and Corbett Leasing. He was a member of the Dunes Club at Atlantic Beach. Buddy had served on the board of directors for BB&T in Winston Salem and the General Motors National Dealers Council and was past president of the NC Auto Dealers Association. In Wilson, he was a former member of the Jaycees, Rotary Club, Elks Club and Wilson Country Club and had served on the Salvation Army board of directors. In Morehead City, he had served on Salvation Army board.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Lane Thomas Corbett; sons, William T. Corbett and wife, Debby, of Pine Level and Jesse W. Corbett, III of North Platte, NE; daughter-in-law, Lorene L. Corbett of Plymouth; granddaughter, Hannah E. Corbett of Pine Level; grandson, Noah Corbett of Plymouth; sister, Mary Ellen Lentz of Wilson and nephew, David C. Lentz and wife, Vicki, of Kenly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 111 Hodges St, Morehead City, NC 28557, The Carteret County Humane Society Animal Shelter, 853 Hibbs Road Newport, NC 28570 or to Boy Scouts of America, East Carolina Council, PO Box 1698, Kinston, NC 28503.

The family will be at the home, 208 Bogue Dr, Morehead City, Sunday, 3-5 PM.
