STANTONSBURG - B. T. Shingleton, 82, died Friday, July 3, 2009. B. T. loved the land and had extensive farming interest having served on the area Soil and Water Conservation Committee for over 40 years. Locally he had served on the BB&:T board, a member of the Joseph Warren Masonic Lodge and the Wilson Memorial Hospital board. He was a World War II veteran. Funeral, Monday, 11 AM, Stantonsburg United Methodist Church. Surviving is his wife, Eleanor Whitley Shingleton: daughter, Susan Boykin of Wilson: son, Tommy Shingleton (June) of Stantonsburg: grandchildren, Bethany, Julia, Laura and Rosemary Shingleton, Collins, Sherard, Blake Boykin and Blake's fiancé, Brittany Connor. The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wilson, Sunday, 5 - 6:30 PM.
