Brenda Miles

WILSON - Brenda Hawley Miles, passed away on Sunday January 5, 2014.
Memorial services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Douglas E. Murray on Wednesday, January 8, 3:00 PM, at First Baptist Church followed by visitation.
Brenda was born on January 11, 1949 in Wilson, to the late Elmer "Red" Hawley and Norma Short Hawley. She grew up in Wilson and lived for brief periods in Kansas City, Missouri and Wilmington, N.C. before returning with her family to Wilson. Brenda was a kind, affectionate, and nurturing person. She loved her friends and family, especially her eight grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, James E. "Jim" Miles, III and wife, Vanessa, of Covington, LA and Waverly Grant Miles and wife, Elizabeth, of Santa Monica, CA; her grandchildren, Ellie Miles, James Miles IV, Olivia Miles, Coleman Miles and Gigi Margaret Miles, of Covington, LA, and Carolina Miles, Emmett Miles, and Charlie Miles, of Santa Monica, CA; brothers, Larry Hawley and wife, Teresa, of Lake Norman and Phillip Hawley and wife, Melinda, of Wilson; father of her sons, Jim Miles, II of Morehead City; nephews, Hunter Hawley of Santa Barbara, CA and Ryan Hawley of Hawaii and many special friends.
The family is most appreciative of the loving work of her physicians and caregivers, Dr. Tonya Little, Dr. Lindsey de Guehery and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of Wilson Medical Center.
