Bobby Skinner

Bobby Lee Skinner, 73, of Wilson, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, April 17, 2025 after a long battle with interstitial lung disease.

Funeral, Tuesday, 1:00 PM, at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 2606 Downing St SW, Wilson, followed by visitation. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.

Bobby was born in Wilson to George Eric “Buck” Skinner and Elsie Mae Matthews Skinner. Bobby served his country proudly in the United States Army and was married to his wife of 52 years, Debra Jean Carlisle Skinner, in 1973. He worked for Firestone for 30 years.

Faith in God was his priority on this earth. The birth of his sons Jason and Jonathan who were his pride and joy was the highlight of his life. He was a true family man and enjoyed having lots of family gatherings to share a meal. Once grandchildren started coming they were the apple of his eye. He was such a hands on Grandpa. He cherished every moment he could spend with them and teach them important life lessons. Bobby also loved and adored his daughters-in-law, Tonya and Amber. He had so much love and companionship from his puppy dog Marley.

Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Debra Carlisle Skinner; sons, Jason Skinner and wife, Tonya, and Jonathan “Johnny” Skinner and wife, Amber; grandsons, Dixon Skinner and Jackson Davis; granddaughters, Willow Skinner and Georgia Davis; brothers, Buddy Skinner and wife, Peggy, Ricky Skinner and wife, Venise, and Mickey Skinner and partner, Janice, along with many in-laws, special nephews, nieces, church members, and his puppy companion, Marley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two infant children; brother, Charles Eric “Dick” Skinner; sister, Jean Carol Skinner Barnes, and his precious puppy, Sonny.
