WILSON - Bobby "Bimbo" Poythress, 59, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral, Friday, 10 AM, Upper Black Creek Church Cemetery, Lucama. The visitation will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Thursday, 6 - 8 PM.
He was a veteran of the United States Marines.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, friend and soul mate, Sandra Poythress of the home; daughter, Shannon Wiggins (Tommy) of Lucama, step-daughters, Cindy Bass (Jon Crandall) of Winterville, Michelle Deese (Andy) of the home; step-son, Daniel Bunting (Nichole) of Florida; sisters - Martha Boyette (Alan) of Bailey, Suzie Jones (Jody) of Wilson; brother, Billy Poythress of Lucama; grandchildren, Hayleigh Poythress Elias, Kaycee and Jonathan Wiggins of Lucama, Kristin Keen of the home, Anna and Amber Bass of Winterville, Alena Bunting and Layton Scott of Florida; nephews, Kevin, Jason and Randy Boyette, Blake Parrish and Brian and Steven Poythress; nieces, Jaime Boyette, Ariel Jones, Star Edmonson, Wendy Viverette and many great nieces and nephews; his life long sisters-in-law, Katie and Kathy Poythress and his loving cat, Sambo Poythress.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estelle and Oliver Poythress and a brother, William (Sam) Poythress who was his closest friend.
