WILSON - William F. "Billy" Tomlinson, 84, died Sunday, January 3, 2016.
Funeral, Thursday, 2 PM, Maplewood Cemetery, Tomlinson Plot (Old Section).
Billy was a son of Charles L. and Sally West Tomlinson of Wilson County. He graduated Charles L. Coon High School and Atlantic Christian (Barton) College where he played basketball. Golf was a sport he really enjoyed later in addition to basketball. He worked with the NC Department of Transportation for over 30 years.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Susan Jones Tomlinson; sons, William "Billy" Corbett (Debbie) of Pine Level and Robert L. Rouse of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Blair Daniels (Harland) of Princeton, Hannah Corbett of Pine Level and Lauren Rouse of Fremont; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Katelyn and Chloe Daniels; brother: James "Jay" Clark, III (Peggy) of Cocoa, FL; aunt, Mary Lee Owens, Mechanicsville, PA.
He was a gentle, kind and helpful man who will be missed by all.
