STANTONSBURG - Billie Jean Hunt Shingleton Boykin, 78, died Monday, December 12, 2011, in Austell, GA.
Funeral, Saturday, 11 AM, Stantonsburg Baptist Church. Interment, Stantonsburg Cemetery.
She had lived in Stantonsburg before marrying Charles David Boykin, formerly of Snow Hill, and establishing their home in Austell. Many will remember her from her years in the Stantonsburg Post Office. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Garland, and their son, Bryce Shingleton.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Lynn Lancaster (Ray) of Eureka; grandchildren, Leigh G. Worley (Stephen) of Fremont, Rebekah Shingleton of Raleigh and Will Shingleton (fiancé, Jennifer Ricks) of Boston, MA; great-grandchild, Tristan Worley; daughter-in-law, Susan M. Shingleton of Wilson; brother, Keith Hunt (Connie) of Tarboro; niece, Amber Hunt; step-daughter, Linda Paris (Bruce) of Birmingham, AL; step-son, Charles Boykin (Bonita) of Smyrna, GA; five step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Wilson, Friday, 6 - 7:30 PM, and at the Shingleton home, 401 Saratoga Rd, Stantonsburg, on Friday.
