Bill Skinner

November 18, 1934 — March 7, 2015

WILSON - William Thomas "Bill" Skinner, 80, completed his life journey and moved into the arms of his Lord, Saturday, March 7, 2015.

Funeral, Monday, 2 PM, Forest Hills Baptist Church. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park. The visitation will be at the church, Monday, 1 - 2 PM.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, William Worth Skinner (Sandy) of Lucama, Michael Thomas Skinner (Peggy) and Danny Joe Skinner (Luann) of Wilson and Joseph Todd Skinner (Gail) of Greenville; dear to his heart granddaughter, Anne Cameron Skinner; grandsons, Will Skinner, Adam Skinner (Danielle), Neil Skinner (Gina), Andrew Skinner (Shannon) and Stephen Skinner; great-granddaughters, Madison, Kayle and Ella Grace Skinner and great-grandson, Nathan Skinner; sisters, Rita Jo Brantley of Burleson TX and Patricia Gail Loftin (Jan) of Lucama and brothers, Robert "Bobby" Graham Skinner (Brenda Kay) and Donald "Donnie" Ray Skinner (Doris) of Wilson and Russell Harris Skinner (Faye) of Lucama.

He served honorably for seven years in the Army National Guard of the United States. Bill retired from Coca-Cola of Wilson in 1985 with twenty-eight years of service and was owner and operator of Bill Skinner Signs for twenty years, serving Wilson and surrounding counties. He was a long time member of Forest Hills Baptist Church, serving in the capacities of deacon, teacher, sound system operator, usher and was in the choir. Bill loved hunting, car races, teaching and judging equestrian activities and softball.

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-four years, Shelby Jean Carroll Skinner; son, Andrea' Joe Skinner; parents, Joseph Thomas Skinner and LuEtta Clee Flowers Skinner of Wilson and brother, Richard Carlton "Dickie" Skinner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Forest Hills Baptist Church, 1407 Forest Hills Rd NW, Wilson, NC 27896-1576.
