Betsy Bissette

Betsy Bissette, 75, of Cary, NC left this world on March 3, 2025 and is now in the arms of Jesus.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, March 15th, 11:00 AM, at Wilson Memorial Service.

Betsy is survived by her sister, Dorothy Bunn of Wilson; brother, Terry Bissette (Jeanne-Marie Derrick) of Monroe; nephews, Cody Bissette of Beaufort, SC and Chad Bunn (Leslie) of Wilson; niece, Heather Blythe (Jordan) of Kill Devil Hills; special friend and love of her life, Rudy Brown of Cary; step-sons, Keith Brown (Isabell) of Ardmore, OK and Eric Brown (Luz) of Lake Mary, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Ruby Tedder Bissette.

Betsy joined the US Army soon after graduating from high school. We are so proud that she dedicated 21 years of service and worked her way up to become a Chief Warrant Officer 3. After retiring from the Army, she worked with the EPA for 22 years.

She made a lot of friends along the way and maintained those friendships throughout the years.

Betsy will always be remembered for her generosity as she was always helping others. She loved calling friends and family to sing happy birthday and her singing always brought a lot of laughs as she wasn’t musically inclined.

She had a stroke in June 2024 and she became blind on the left side of both of her eyes. She faced this tragedy just like a strong soldier, but it had an enormous impact on her living every-day life.

Betsy would want you to know that she can see again today as she is celebrating with Jesus! She would also want you to know how you can know Jesus as your personal Savior so you can also celebrate eternity with Him who died for us to reconcile us with our Heavenly Father.
