WILSON - Rebecca Johnson "Becky" Patterson, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Wilson Medical Center.
Funeral, Sunday, 2 PM, First United Methodist Church Columbarium, 100 Green St NE, followed by a time of visiting.
A native of Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Sammie Robertson Johnson and James Mason Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Stafford Allen Patterson.
After attending the University of Memphis and Miss Wiley's Secretarial School, she began working for Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation as an administrative assistant for Thomas Youngs.
She met and married Stafford in 1946 and moved to Wilson. She worked for Branch Banking and Trust for 31 years as an administrative assistant for Simon Lawrence and later for Harlee Lyon.
Becky enjoyed Topsail Beach, collecting books, playing bridge and was an avid Duke sports fan.
She is survived by her brother in law, Joseph Davis Patterson and wife, Jane Thomas Patterson, of Smithfield and several nieces and nephews.
