Archie Ellis

WILSON - Archie Kavanaugh Ellis, 87, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Mr. Ellis was born July 10, 1920 in Wilson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ellis and a brother, Herbert Ellis, Jr.. Mr. Ellis, a successful farmer and developer, loved his family, his farm, and his church. He served his church as a Ruling Elder and was on the building committee. His love for boating and fishing at Topsail Beach was immeasurable. He taught many young children to water ski and drive a boat. The funeral will be Thursday, 11:00 AM, First Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. William Nickels and Dr. Gaylord Lehman. A time of visiting and sharing will be at the church immediately following the funeral. Surviving: wife, Ann Barkley Ellis; daughter, Gina Ellis Minton
