WILSON - Anne Covington Fulghum, 94, died Thursday, December 17, 2015.
Anne was a born in Danville, VA, on March 20, 1921, to John Anderson and Bessie Gwynn Covington. She graduated from Farmville State Teacher's College (Longwood) and majored in history. She taught school in Brosville, VA. Anne was a war bride. When she married Pete, his military service took them to Florida. Upon leaving the military, they settled in Wilson where she was an active volunteer in the Red Cross Bloodmobile for many years. She enjoyed history, reading, bridge, watching tennis, and keeping up with current events. Anne was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edwin M. "Pete" Fulghum; infant son, Thomas Arthur Fulghum; grandsons, Edwin M. Fulghum, III and Joseph Gwyn Crandley.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Gwyn Crandley (Jack) of Virginia Beach, VA, son, Dr. Edwin M. Fulghum, Jr. (Jan) of Statesville; grandchildren, Dr. Ruth Walters (Mike), Elizabeth Fulghum, Rebecca Kuppler (Kevin), John Crandley (Kate), Dr. Edwin Crandley (Mary), great-grandchildren, John Crandley, III, Edwin Crandley, Jr. and Ann Marie Crandley; brother, John Covington (Katie) of Wilson and her caretaker, Regina Battle.
The funeral will be for and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 1423, Wilson, NC 27894.
