FREMONT - Floyd Anthony “Andy” Evans, 65, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018.
The funeral will be Saturday, 4:00 PM, at Fremont United Methodist Church with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends following the service at The Warehouse located at the corner of Sycamore and Pippin Streets in Fremont.
Andy was a loving husband, father, and friend to all. He was President of Evans Farms, Inc. and a lifetime steward of the land and his community. He continued and expanded his family tradition of farming and dedicated his life to perpetuating this agricultural legacy. His love was for his family, his community, and the land from which he made his living.
Andy was a devoted friend and advocate for everyone in the community. Throughout his life, he served in countless leadership positions with the Town of Fremont, Wayne Community College, NC Jaycees, Fremont United Methodist Church and Wayne County Young Farmers. He was a member and past master of Masonic Home Lodge # 613 AF & AM.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Fleming Evans; daughters, Rachel Evans of Fremont and Courtney Evans of Raleigh; father, Junius Evans and step-mother, Christine of Fremont; sisters, Jean Milleson and Judy Evans of Fremont and Lynne Barker of Durham; brother, Steven Evans and sister-in-law, Tammy of Fremont, and his many beloved nieces and nephews.
No flowers please. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St, Oxford, NC 27565-2717.
