WILSON - Joel Albert Farmer, 72, died Monday, October 15, 2018.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 18, 11:00 AM, at Bible Missionary Baptist Church. The visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Albert’s greatest roles in life were being a husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating. He was a charter member of Bible Missionary Bible Baptist Church. He was director of Baptist Men, served as an elder, taught Sunday School, and was part of the NC Baptist Disaster Relief Team. Albert was also a Gideon and lifetime member of the Optimist Club.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Turner Farmer; daughters, Denise Graddon (Martin) and Christy Jaski (Tom); granddaughters, Bailey, Morgan and Abby Graddon and Lucy, Lauren, Anna Claire and Lily Jaski all of Wilmington; brothers, Wayne Farmer of Rolesville, Randy Farmer (Anne) of Waynesville and Bob Cullifer (Heidi) of New Mexico.
Albert was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Farmer; mother, Ruby Webb Cullifer Farmer; step-father, Robert Cullifer and brother, Danny Farmer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bible Missionary Baptist Church, 2833 Tilghman Rd, N, Wilson 27896-8906.
