ELM CITY - Agnes Thomas Taylor, 95, of the Pleasant Hope community near Elm City, died June 15, 2010. Funeral, Thursday, 7 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Interment, Friday, 10 AM, Evergreen Memorial Park. "Granny Ag" had lived with her daughter and son-in-law in her declining years. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were with her at the hour of her death.Not only did she have a great love for her family, her family had a great love for her. They will forever cherish her precious memory. She was a wonderful wife to her late husband, Henry L. Taylor. She made many friends through her 36 years of work at Stelen's Dress Shop and Value Pak in downtown Wilson. She was especially known for her sense of humor and love of people. Surviving is her daughter, Marian Griffin and her husband, Tom; granddaughters, Allison Dorsey of Wilson and Ginger Garrou (Kelly) of Elm City; grandson, Allen Griffin, and his friend, Donna Barnes of Elm City; great-grandchildren, Thomas Steelman, Dallas Dorsey, Heather Griffin, Rachel Garrou and Joel Griffin; a former son-in-law, Chip Dorsey of Elm City. The family would like to thank Pleasant Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Wilson County Home Health and Wilmed Hospice for their kindness and compassion. A special thank you is extended to Hilda Tant and Louis Whitley for their countless hours of support and tender loving care.
