WILSON - Askew Clifton "A.C." Joyner, Jr., 83, died Sunday, December 27, 2015.
Funeral, Wednesday, 3 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, followed by visitation. Inurnment will be for and at the convenience of the family.
He was President of Joyner's Memorial until his retirement. He then created Memorial Designs and Restoration. Notable work was at the Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina State Capital, Duke University, Virginia Tech, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and the Wright Brothers Memorial at Kitty Hawk. A.C. was a past president of the Monument Builders of the Carolinas and the Monument Builders of North America. A life member of the Wilson Elks Lodge, he served as Exalted Ruler and as a Deputy District Officer. He was a long time member of the Robert B. Anderson American Legion Post #13.
Surviving is his wife, Jean Bass Joyner; daughter, Rebecca Cordova and husband, Philip, of New Bern; son, Askew Clifton "Cliff" Joyner, III of Charlotte; grandchildren, Hillary Bennett and Logan Cordova of New Bern.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
