Richard Fulghum, Jr.

Richard “Rick” C. Fulghum, Jr., 78, of Wilson, died Monday, December 27, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Funeral, Thursday, 2:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.

Rick graduated from Ralph L. Fike high school in 1961 and attended Kings Business College in Raleigh, NC. He went on to work as a tobacconist with Export Leaf/Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company and retired after 36 years.  He enjoyed cooking on the grill, playing golf, pulling for UNC Tarheels, and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving is his wife, Rita Alligood Fulghum; son, Richard “Richie” Fulghum III (Jamey) of Wilson; daughter, Krista F. Potter (Allen) of Wilson; grandchildren, Kevin Fulghum, Garrett Potter, James Fulghum and Raegan Fulghum; brother, Philip Fulghum (Barbara) of Pinehurst; nephew, Grant Fulghum; sister-in-law, Kim A. Murray (Rick) of Washington, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Carlton and Mildred Nichols Fulghum.
