Minnie McCullen

Minnie Fields McCullen, age 87, of Wilson, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

Funeral, Friday, 3:00 PM, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will also be at the home of Lynne White and Jack Mobilia in the Belle Meade community, Thursday, 7:00 – 8:30 PM.

Minnie was a gentle soul; a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her. Her love for family will be forever in their hearts. She loved the Lord and was a long-time member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for years and helped prepare many meals. She was a talented seamstress, enjoyed growing flowers and froze fresh vegetables from her and Sam’s bountiful gardens. They generously shared their produce with family and friends.  Minnie will be greatly missed.

Mrs. McCullen is survived by her daughter, Lynne White and husband, Jack Mobilia, of Wilson; son, Joe McCullen of Dunn; grandchildren, Lucas Barnes (Nichole) of Sims, Linwood White IV (Claire) of Wilson, Conley Evans (Mike) of Clayton and Logan Parnell (Kyle) of Smithfield; great-grandchildren, Everette Barnes and Jett Evans.

Minnie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Sanford D. McCullen, in 2017; parents, Joseph and Louvella Bagley Fields of Sampson County; sister, Clara Nell Brown; and brothers, Billy Fields and L.J. Fields.

The family is especially grateful for Fran Wilkins and the dedicated caretakers at the Cottage at Spring Arbor for the care given to their mother.
